Q: Do you do both photo and video at the same time for weddings?
A: No. We do however take some photos to use on our DVD faces and DVD covers. You are welcome to have some of these photos if you like, but we are not there to replace the official wedding photographer.
Q: Do you do wedding photography?
A: Yes we do, but then we only concentrate on that and don't take video as well. We can however use sound recording devices to capture the sound at the ceremony and the speeches and mix this into a unique slide show video. Q: When shooting video at our wedding will you be in the way?
A: We try our best to be inconspicuous and to accommodate the wishes of the official photographer, who always takes precedence at a wedding.
Q: Can you provide references?
A: Yes we can. Please see the page marked "References" on our Website.
Q: Do you enjoy your job?
A: Yes we are passionate about what we do and we absolutely love our job.
Q: Why can't we get our DVD sooner?
A: At a typical wedding we can end up with 12 to 18 hours of HD footage from 3 HD cameras. This takes time to download, back up and categorize before we even start editing. Editing is done on non-linear professional editing software (on a second by second basis) and a quality product takes time to produce.
Q: Do you back up your work?
A: Most definitely! We back up all our projects to at least 3 different hard drives.
Q: Can we use our own music in our wedding DVD?
A: Yes, we love it when our couples give us a disc or USB flash drive with music that they love. We then use our discretion to see where we can fit it into the production.
Q: Are you experienced at wedding videography and editing?
A: Yes! We have been doing wedding videography for 10+ years.
Q: What if it rains?
A: We have contingency plans for if it rains. We use a rain cover for shooting in wet conditions, but our gear must take precedent if the conditions are very bad. We always make a plan though and some of our best wedding videos have been shot in rainy weather.
Q: How does your payment structure work?
A: A non-refundable booking fee of 50% is required to secure our services. Thereafter the remainder (50% balance of the quotation) is to be paid on or before the Wedding Day. Any additional costs (travel and accommodation) is payable within 7 days after the wedding.
Q: Do you offer a discount for winter weddings?
A: Yes we can certainly discuss this.
Q: What is your favourite wedding venue and why?
A: We love shooting at all venues because of the variety, but it certainly makes our job much easier if the ceremony and reception are at the same location. Filming the bride getting ready at her home and then rushing off to the ceremony to set up before she arrives and then breaking everything down to get to the reception venue is part of what we do as wedding videographers but man, it can be exhausting work. Personally a beach wedding for us is awesome, but the weather can sometimes be an issue.
Q: How long do you keep a copy of our wedding on record?
A: We like to keep a backup of the finished wedding DVD for at least 3 years.
Q: Can we order more copies of the DVD for friends and family?
A: Yes you can. Extra DVD's cost R100 for the Wedding Highlights DVD and R150 for a Complete Wedding DVD.
Q: Can you make use of more videographers at our wedding?
A: Yes we can, but we would have to adjust our pricing accordingly.
